Maison Vohl Care

Premium Egyptian cotton rolls — the base of Maison Vohl tees

Care for your clothes

At Maison Vohl, we work hard to source only the finest Egyptian cotton and take pride in crafting fabrics that deliver exceptional comfort, fit, and longevity. When you choose Maison Vohl, you’re investing in premium quality—so it’s worth doing the little things to keep your shirts looking and feeling their best.

Below are some key tips to maximize the life of your clothing:

Quick Care Summary:

  • Wash less often; when you do, use cold water.

  • Separate whites from colors; turn colors inside out.

  • Air dry whenever possible, or tumble dry on low.

  • Steam for best results (ironing works too).

Air out shirts to protect fibers and extend life.

Wash Less

Washing after every wear isn’t always necessary—many shirts just need to be aired out before wearing again. This saves your fabric from unnecessary stress and keeps it in better condition.
Tip: Avoid dry cleaning our shirts; it’s not required and can be harsh on the fibers.

Cold wash keeps cotton soft, bright, and lasting

Wash on Cold

We recommend cold water (30°C / 86°F) for all Maison Vohl garments. Cold water is gentler on cotton fibers, helps preserve shape and color, and still cleans effectively. Always turn colored shirts inside out and wash whites separately to prevent color transfer.

Less detergent means softer, longer-lasting shirts.

Less Is More with Detergent

Using more detergent doesn’t mean cleaner clothes. In fact, excess detergent can damage fibers over time. Choose a mild detergent when possible, and avoid chlorine, harsh chemicals, and fabric softeners.

Air dry to save energy, reduce shrinkage, and protect cotton.

Drying Protocol

Air drying is the best option—it’s eco-friendly, cost-free, and minimizes shrinkage. Our fabrics include a touch of spandex to help maintain fit, but cotton naturally shrinks about 3%.
If you must machine dry, use a tumble or low-heat setting and remove clothes promptly to prevent wrinkles and mildew.

Steam or iron for a polished, wrinkle-free finish.

The Finishing Touch: Steaming & Ironing

Cotton is prone to wrinkles, but a little care goes a long way. Shake shirts after washing before drying or hanging to reduce creasing. Steaming is preferred for a gentle finish, but ironing works too. This final step perfects the look—whether you hang your shirts or fold them afterward. If you must machine dry, use a tumble or low-heat setting and remove clothes promptly to prevent wrinkles and mildew.
